What does Mid-Michigan SWE do?  

Mid-Michigan SWE is a local chapter of the Society of Women Engineers.  We focus on network creation, community outreach, and professional development. Our favorite events include the annual Pottery Social, lunch & learns, and Girls Day Out, an outreach event where middle school girls do experiments and learn about STEM.​

Do I need to be a SWE National member to attend events? 

No!  Anyone is welcome to attend our events.  However, membership is encouraged, and you must be a member to run for an elected position.​

Do I have to be a woman to join SWE?

No! Anyone is welcome to join.​

How can I keep updated on Mid-Michigan SWE? 

You have three options:

All Things Membership

Why should I become a National SWE Member? How much does it cost? Where can I sign up?

WHY? There are many benefits to becoming a SWE member, including access e-learning courses through the Advance Learning Center, discounted event registration, networking opportunities (including mentorship programs), SWE Career Center access, and more.  You also become eligible to run for elected positions in SWE and apply for certain awards. 

HOW MUCH? Professional membership is $100 annually. You can become a member via the SWE website.
